Doralese
Doralese is an alpha blocker. Alpha blockers work by relaxing the smooth muscle tissue of the prostate gland. This relaxation reduces the pressure on the urethra which helps the symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate. Doralese can be expected to improve symptoms within 2-3 weeks. The symptoms you can expect to improve if the tablets are working will include :- urine stream, delay, frequency & night time visits. What Doralese will not do is decrease the size of the prostate. Not everyone will benefit, but up to 75% of men can expect an improvement in their urine flow etc.
Like all alpha blockers Doralese can have side effects. Some men may experience a dry mouth, nose blockage, some weight gain, drowsiness or ejaculation failure. Alpha blockers will not have an effect on your PSA level.
Most side effects are normally mild. If you have any worries at all you should contact your medic and discuss them thoroughly.
Prior to starting these tablets you should point out to your medic any history of poor heart function, any kidney or liver disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy or depression.
