However good your GP or hospital general nurse, you need to organise a referral to a Macmillan nurse or similar palliative care team. They will have the expertise; the answers to your questions and the ability to direct toward you ,and your carer, the help and care you are both going to need.
However good your general surgeon or urologist at your hospital, if your cancer has left the prostate gland, you also need to get a referral to a pain specialist. Once again as above he or she have the expertise to help you.
The PHA can put you in touch with other men with prostate cancer who have probably overcome the problems you are facing, or at least have learnt how to live with them. Don't waste this valuable resource. Our Newsletters contain information which could direct you to the particular type of treatment you want.
Remember it is only with knowledge that you will be able to ensure that you receive the treatment you deserve.
